Social Media: Predicting Societal Behavior

Social Media: Predicting Societal Behavior

….and then marketing to it. We are freely giving it all up via social media. Most people would say, “I have nothing to hide, so who cares if someone is watching my posts.” I would say that  its not about hiding, just not sharing so much. The entities who control mass perception have been given the holy grail of data gathering – an unfiltered banquet of our unfiltered thoughts, deeds and desires. What used to require marketing focus groups and other strategic marketing tools is now handed to our governments, mega corporations, pharmaceutical companies, military strategists and covert agencies on a silver platter. The net effect is that they know how to sell their ideologies to us via every conceivable media, including the baloney we are fed on mainstream (and some alternative) news. We have tipped our collective hand and are paying the price through mass manipulation.
