Airbnb is, in my opinion, one of the beautiful outcomes of a downturned economy. It’s brought a bright light to the world of travel for people who otherwise couldn’t have done so due to the price of hotels just as it has brought relief to the homeowner who may have needed a boost in paying the mortgage. More so, it has asked us to trust one another, not an easy task in today’s cynical world.
In a new article on the state of Airbnb as a business, we see that this trust in one another has paid off big time for the company’s founder, as it has paid off for us, the average person who chooses to open our home to the possibility of turning a stranger to a friend while making a little cash. Still this disruptive new industry has mountains to climb as the hotel industry and cities strike back, seeking their share of the pie.
